EMU Signs MOU with Tuazama Universal Leadership Academy to Expand Global Access to Faith-Based Higher Education

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

St. Petersburg, FL — November 17, 2025 — Ebed-Melech University (EMU) is pleased to announce a landmark partnership with Tuazama Universal Leadership Academy (TULA)—a rapidly growing, tuition-free global educational organization founded by humanitarian and entrepreneur Owen Kanwen Johnson Tuazama. Together, the institutions are launching the Tuazama Global Leadership Access Scholarship (TGLAS), a new pathway designed to expand access to faith-based, affordable higher education for emerging leaders around the world.

Through this partnership, verified Tuazama recruits may continue their studies at EMU for a flat monthly tuition of $100, with EMU’s standard $200 application fee. The scholarship is supported by Tuazama’s longstanding philanthropic commitment to reducing educational barriers and personally sponsoring learners each year.

Owen Kanwen Johnson Tuazama is the Founder and CEO of Tuazama Universal Leadership Academy (TULA), a tuition-free, nonprofit institution headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A dedicated author, philanthropist, businessman, and life coach, Tuazama is internationally recognized for his work in expanding access to education for underserved populations.

Tuazama has built a reputation for personally funding scholarships, supporting underprivileged students, and using his influence to create practical, career-aligned learning opportunities for global communities. His work centers on educational equity, leadership cultivation, community development, and the removal of financial barriers to upward mobility.

Founded in 2020, TULA is a tuition-free educational institution offering certificates, diplomas, and master’s-level professional certificates in high-demand fields such as:

  • Data Science

Programs range from 4 months to 1 year and are offered through multiple learning formats—including in-person, live online, and self-paced—allowing learners from every region of the world to participate.

TULA aligns its mission with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing leadership, ethical problem-solving, skill development, and volunteerism. While TULA does not grant academic degrees, it provides recognized, skills-based qualifications that prepare learners for career advancement and community leadership.

The Academy currently serves students across Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, South America, and the United States, operating through satellite hubs and community-based partner organizations.

“Tuazama is one of the most visionary and compassionate organizations I’ve encountered,” said Dr. Roxanne Kemp, Founder & President of Ebed-Melech University. “Owen’s dedication to breaking down educational barriers mirrors the heart of EMU’s mission. This partnership honors the work TULA is already doing globally, and we are grateful to serve their learners through degree-level opportunities.”
