Building the University We Were Called to Build.
When Ebed-Melech University was founded, our vision was never simply to put classes online. We believed God was calling us to create an educational community where faith and professional preparation did not have to exist in separate worlds.
We wanted to create room for working adults, ministry leaders, entrepreneurs, educators, professionals, parents, emerging scholars and Kingdom Builders whose lives were already in motion.
Over the past several months, we have made some of the most significant changes in the history of our University. We launched The Lion’s Den, redesigned our academic rhythm around primarily self-paced learning, expanded academic pathways, strengthened student engagement and welcomed leaders whose experience will help carry EMU into its next season.

Our focus in this season is intentional growth: stronger programs, clearer systems, meaningful student support, responsible innovation, spiritual formation and education that equips people to serve wherever God has placed them.
The mission has not changed. We are simply building more of the infrastructure necessary to carry it.
Ebed-Melech University
A New Home for the EMU Learning Experience.
One of EMU’s most significant developments this year has been the launch of The Lion’s Den, our Moodle-based digital learning environment.
What began as a necessary transition has become an opportunity to create a stronger digital campus—bringing coursework, orientation, faculty communication, academic resources and student support together in one place.

Twana Elliott, M.S.
Twana Elliott brings higher-education teaching, faculty-development and academic-leadership experience to EMU. Her work centers on strengthening faculty support, academic operations, instructional consistency and the systems required to serve students across EMU’s evolving self-paced environment.
Tamara Collins, M.S.
Tamara Collins brings a focus on nutrition, wellness education and whole-person well-being to EMU. Her work connects nutrition, health education, practical wellness and community well-being with the University’s expanding health initiatives.
Amina Madida, BAarch, BBA
Based in South Africa, Amina helps strengthen connection, belonging and engagement throughout EMU’s international student community. Her work supports an experience designed to extend beyond coursework and create meaningful community across borders.
S. Anderson B. Cooper, MBA
Cooper helps expand EMU’s relationships throughout Liberia and West Africa, connecting prospective students, ministries, educational organizations and communities with the University’s academic mission.

Dr. Janell Elliott Moves from Faculty to Advisory Leadership.
This fall marks a meaningful transition for Dr. Janell Elliott, DBA, who is concluding her regular faculty service at Ebed-Melech University and beginning a new chapter as a member of the EMU Advisory Board.
Through her time on the business faculty, Dr. Elliott contributed professional experience, academic perspective and a commitment to the development of EMU students.
Her move into advisory leadership allows that relationship to continue while giving her an opportunity to contribute from a broader institutional perspective as EMU grows.

In this French-language work, Dr. Kana examines an important question about modern media: who and what influences the information a society receives?
Focusing on mass media in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the book explores how political and economic forces can shape media organizations, journalistic decision-making and the public’s access to information.
Particular attention is given to freedom of information, self-censorship and economic censorship—issues connecting journalism with political economy, governance, institutional power and the responsibility of media in public life.
EMU celebrates Dr. Kana’s scholarship as another example of faculty work extending beyond the virtual classroom and engaging consequential global questions.

The EMU Global Ambassador Fellowship is being developed as a selective leadership and service opportunity for current and incoming students who want to represent EMU, welcome prospective Lions and strengthen our growing global community.
Global Ambassador appointments are selective and limited. Tuition reductions are scholarship benefits tied to active participation and do not constitute employment.
