Dr. Jo Lobertini Joins the Board of Directors for Ebed-Melech Foundation

A Proven Leader with a Vision for Adult Learners

Dr. Lobertini is an advocate for adult learners and faculty, dedicated to improving organizational frameworks and creating systems that foster data-driven decisions. With her extensive background in administration of undergraduate and graduate online, hybrid, and traditional academic and student support programs, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to find opportunities, stretch boundaries, and focus on results.

Educational Background and Expertise

Dr. Lobertini holds an Ed.D. in Postsecondary & Private Education, along with an M.A. in English and History. Her comprehensive understanding of both the academic and administrative aspects of higher education is evident in her numerous leadership roles and achievements.

Professional Experience and Accomplishments

South College As an Assistant Professor of English and Humanities, Dr. Lobertini teaches hybrid and online courses while directing the ETS assessment process and reporting.

Online Higher Ed Consulting Projections Co. Dr. Lobertini provided training and curricular support for online faculty, programs, and providers at East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee, where she also taught online courses as an adjunct faculty member.

Tusculum University Serving as Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs for Adult and Online Studies, Dr. Lobertini was responsible for academic and administrative operations of various programs, including the Gateway Program (online) and multiple undergraduate and master’s degree programs. She played a key role in designing and leading faculty workshops, revising online orientation classes, and initiating ADA and Quality Matters reviews for online and hybrid courses.

Clarke University As Dean of the College of Graduate and Professional Studies, Dr. Lobertini provided entrepreneurial vision and collaborative leadership to adult undergraduate and graduate programs. She successfully moved the RN-BSN program online and led the development and implementation of strategic plans for various academic programs.

Friends University Dr. Lobertini led the College of Adult and Professional Studies, overseeing liberal arts education through a professional lens. She was responsible for growing both the online and evening programs and improving student learning, retention, and graduation initiatives.

East Tennessee State University In her roles as Assistant Dean and Chair of the School of Continuing Studies and Academic Outreach, Dr. Lobertini administered multiple budgets and accounts, supervised academic advisors, staff, and faculty, and was responsible for the recruitment, marketing, admission, enrollment, advising, and completion of various programs.

Dr. Lobertini is known for her positive, empathic, and approachable demeanor. Her managerial acumen includes hiring, training, mentoring, and inspiring faculty and staff. Her dedication to student satisfaction and retention is evident in her successful record of designing, implementing, reviewing, and monitoring efforts and activities.
