EMU’s New Assistant Professor Le’Marqunita De’Sharay Lowe

We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our faculty at Ebed-Melech University for the Fall semester, Le’Marqunita De’Sharay Lowe. Le’Marqunita joins us as an Assistant Professor, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for education, social justice, and sustainable practices.

About Le’Marqunita De’Sharay Lowe

Le’Marqunita is a distinguished PhD Candidate at Antioch University, where she is pursuing a degree in Leadership and Change. Her academic journey is marked by excellence, having graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Education from the University of Southern California. She also holds a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from Bowling Green State University, with a focus on political science, history, and ethnic studies.

Her professional background is diverse and impactful. Le’Marqunita has directed educational programs in the Bay Area, worked in early intervention therapy, and served as a learning specialist. Beyond education, she is an accomplished entrepreneur and the CEO of Mercury III cosmetics, a handmade vegan cosmetic company she founded out of a love for sustainable fashion and clean beauty.

Le’Marqunita’s entrepreneurial spirit is also evident in her role as the Founder and CEO of Black & Creme boutique, a platform dedicated to supporting sustainable designers, small businesses, Black-owned businesses, and fair-trade organizations. Her commitment to social justice and advocacy is reflected in her volunteer work with Empower54 and her position on the Board of Directors for the National African Student Association.

Achievements and Recognitions

Le’Marqunita’s achievements extend beyond academia and entrepreneurship. She has been recognized for her contributions and leadership in various capacities:

  • Pageantry: Le’Marqunita has held prestigious titles, including Miss Elite Earth California 2016 and Miss Black US Ambassador 2014. She also represented California as Miss Palo Alto in the 2014 Miss California USA competition.
  • Leadership and Advocacy: She is a hiring partner with Girls For a Change, an organization dedicated to empowering young women.
