Ebed-Melech University (EMU) proudly welcomes alumna Rev. Dr. Kahla D. LaPlante as its new Senior Chaplain. A U.S. Army veteran, minister, author, and transformational guide, Dr. LaPlante returns to EMU to lead chapel services, mentor students, and expand global virtual worship for our diverse community.


A Journey of Faith and Resilience

Overcoming homelessness, military reintegration, and personal loss, Dr. LaPlante earned her Doctorate in Public Health with a concentration in Spiritual Wellness and Community Health at EMU. Her journey reflects EMU’s mission: \”We rise by lifting others.\”

Blessed R Thee Ministry & The P.E.A.C.E. Path

Founder of Blessed R Thee Ministry (BRTM), Dr. LaPlante serves women veterans facing housing insecurity. Her signature initiative, The P.E.A.C.E. Path, developed at EMU, empowers individuals through:
